De La Salle Santiago Zobel Symphonic Band wins Gold in Los Angeles International Music Festival

The De La Salle Santiago Zobel Symphonic Band representing the Philippines triumphed and took home top award at the recently concluded Los Angeles International Music Festival 2018.

The Alabang based band played the “Alvamar Overture” by James Barnes and “John Williams in Concert” by Paul Lavender, as their winning pieces at the iconic Walt Disney Concert Hall in LA.

The band, made up of elementary and high school students competed against several group from the US and Europe and is the only band to represent Asia.

The music group were invited to join the prestigious competition after winning the Silver award in Hawaii last year.

The Los Angeles International Music Festival is a 5-day even wherein participants joined workshops, played for the Disneyland crowd, and of course competed for the top prize of the music fest.
