Teleperformance

Contact service provider Teleperformance opened today the country's biggest call center with 2,500 seats, at the EDSA Central in Mandaluyong City.

Called New EDSA IT Center 2, the center is a two-level building occupying about 16,000 square meters with 2,500 fully equipped workstations.

Teleperformance, which has corporate headquarters in Paris, France, and Miami Beach in Florida, also plans to open two more sites in two years to bring its workforce here to at least 10,000 people.

Daniel Julien, the Florida-based chairman of Teleperformance SA, described the Teleperformance group as "the international contact center leader and operates in 45 countries with the largest integrated network of domestic, nearshore and offshore solutions."

"While expanding our footprint in the United States, it quickly became obvious that we had to offer strong offshore solutions for the US market," he said.

"The Philippines is a major component of our integrated offer of offshore solutions to the US market, along with Mexico, El Salvador, Argentina, Brazil, Chile, India, the Dominican Republic and Jamaica," he added.

Teleperformance started operating in the Philippines in 1996 and now has 7,500 employees.

"We are so pleased that we plan to continue our expansion here at double-digit numbers for the coming years," Julien said. "This outlook shows well our commitment as global investors in the Philippines."
