Filipino actors star in Off Broadway Play 'Insiders'

Two Filipino Actors, Luis Pedron and Antonio Alvaira will star in the Off Broadway Play "Insiders."

It premieres on September 7 ( Friday) & September 8 (Saturday), 2007 at the Producer's Club 358 W. 44th St., (8 & 9th Avenues) New York City at 8pm.

The play is a bit of a brain teaser, it's about a man's recollection of a crime thru his perception of reality.

The play stars Hollywood actors husband and wife team: Franky G (Manito, Wonderland, Italian Job) and Frances Lozada (Muneca).

Luis Pedron will be playing a Comedian in the play and Antonio Alvaira will be the Jester/Narrator. Both actors are products of the Acting Conservatory of the School For Film and Television in New York.

It is noted that both actors have collaborated in numerous events for Fanclubx.com and have both acted together in films such as "Party Games," "Problema" and soon to be released Horror Flick "Multo."

Frances Lozada ( Director / Writer / Producer / Actress of Insiders ) explains why she casted Luis Pedron and Antonio Alvaira in her play:

Luis Pedron brings a lot of humor to his role and authenticity people would pay to see. He is focused and dedicated to his craft and is always looking to help others bring their projects alive. Luis has been a great help and wanted only to work behind the scenes, but his performance in reading the part drove me to ask him to play it. He is funny and makes the cast laugh, without even trying.

Antonio Alvaira is a talented actor who is focused and always looking to enhance his skills. He takes his work seriously and looks to challenge himself with every role that he plays, no matter how big or small. Working with Antonio has been great. He really wants to capture the persona of the character through the Director's vision. He makes his work his priority and wants to leave people with a good impression of his work. I will continue to work with Antonio and look forward to see him come alive in my play' Insiders'.

I don't look at them as just Filipino actors but actors who are dedicated and willing to work hard. Having a diversified cast is great. I feel I have a great cast and great cultures around us. We all have come together and are helping each other to get to the next level. It seems we will go as a whole. Not a bad deal!
