“GOD, just heal me from this terrible disease, and I will serve you.”

“GOD, I have done everything there is to do. You are my last resort. Please help me!”

“GOD, please help! I promise that if you do this for me, I will change. I will be a better person.”

Have you ever bargained with God?

We may not want to admit it, but for most times we only remember God when we are at a “dead end”, when we have no choice.

We tend to treat the Lord like a fire extinguisher. We call on Him only in times of emergency, when we are in dire need. When things are okay with us, we don’t even acknowledge His presence.

Why is God often the LAST OPTION instead of being the FIRST OPTION?

Why should we make Him our FIRST OPTION?

HE IS AN ALL-KNOWING GOD

There is nothing that God doesn’t know. He knows each and every situation that we are going through, our struggles, our thoughts. We cannot hide anything from Him. He knows you from head to toe. He said that even before we were formed in our mother’s womb, He already knows us. So if there is one person who truly knows how to help us, that is God.

HE IS A POWERFUL GOD

There is nothing that God cannot do. What is impossible for man is always possible with God.

Imagine, the very creator of heaven and earth is the very one who can help you, if you’ll let Him.

HE IS OUR COMFORTER

God is our help in times of need. He will not leave us or forsake us. He will always be with us in all our challenges, problems and troubles. He will always be with us to give us comfort and peace in our heart and mind. People may leave us most especially when we are neck deep in our problems, but not God. He is our strong support in life.

There are a lot of benefits in making God our FIRST OPTION.

Now, the question is, how can we make Him our FIRST OPTION?

If you are ready, these are what you can do…

MAKE HIM YOUR LORD AND SAVIOR

It’s not enough that you know Him in your head; you should also know Him in your heart. I am not promoting any religion, what I’m promoting is for you to have a personal relationship with Him. Make Him your Father, best friend, your leader, your everything. Let God lead you in your life because He has great plans for you, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. He died on the cross for you and me, because He loves us so much and

He can save us from whatever situation we may be in.

GROW IN YOUR RELATIONSHIP WITH HIM

After making Him your personal Lord and Savior, spend time getting to know Him by talking to Him (praying) and listening to Him (reading your Bible). As you grow in your relationship with Him, you’ll discover His promises for you; promises that He will surely fulfill.

Making Him your top priority and first option this start of the year, will be the best decision you could ever make. You’ll never go wrong and you won’t regret it.

Let me end with this verse:

“Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.” –Matthew 6:33

We should make GOD our first and top priority. Why? Because He deserves it. We can be sure that we are safe and secure in His hands. Our trust and our very life will not go to waste if we put them in His hands.

THINK. REFLECT. APPLY

What are you going through now?

Is GOD your first option or your last?

Are you ready to trust Him with everything?
