ABS-CBN bags gold & bronze in New York Festival 2019

Ging Reyes, ABS-CBN Integrated News & Current Affairs Head, receives New York Festivals awards in Las Vegas, Nevada.

ABS-CBN Corporation has won two world medals at the recently concluded 2019 New York Festivals World’s Best TV & Film Awards.

ABS-CBN, which won 3 Gold medals in the 2018 edition of the New York Festivals, won 2 medals in the 2019 edition held in Las Vegas of the annual event that also awarded medals to GMA Network.

The Filipino news network bagged the Gold World Medal award in the Station/Image Promotion category with the Kapamilya Network’s TV plug “Elsa and Sarah.”

The award-winning plug is taken from the “Kapit Ka Lang Anak” episode of “Mission Possible” and tells the story of single mother Elsa Badilla who lost her vision due to glaucoma, and her daughter Sarah who has Down Syndrome.

ABS-CBN also won the Bronze World Medal for DocuCentral’s “Local Legends: Karne Norte” under the Biography/Profiles category for featuring the story of traditional corned beef makers in the province of Masbate.

ABS-CBN Corporation was also awarded a Finalist Certificate for their Mission Possible: “Kapit lang Anak” (Hold on, my Child) in the Best Public Affairs Program category.

Ging Reyes, ABS-CBN Integrated News & Current Affairs Head, received the awards in the ceremony held in Las Vegas, Nevada.
