Filipino junior tennis star Alex Eala is turning professional this 2020 and will play her first tourney in Tunisia.

The Top 4-ranked World Junior Tennis champion from the Philippines went on social media on February 28, 2020, teasing about “another training day in preparation for my first pro tournament next week in Monastir, Tunisia.”

A day earlier, on February 27, news broke out that Alex Eala was making her pro debut at the International Tennis Federation (ITF) Women’s Futures tourney in Monastir, Tunisia, scheduled for March 2-8.

The 14-year-old athlete will play for the prize pot of USD15,000 at the ITF Women’s Futures, an entry-level tournament for professionals.

Eala was given an automatic slot to the main draw of the Tunisian event that is reserved for players in the ITF top 100 junior ranking. Alex surged to World #4
ITF Ranking after making a historic appearance and winning the Grand Slam Australian Open Girls Doubles Title with Indonesian Priska Nugroho in January 2020.

Alex Eala is a scholar of the Rafa Nadal Academy in Mallorca Spain. Reports indicate the teen tennis champion will continue playing junior tourneys as she builds up her pro status.
