In the scene, Mateo, played by Filipino-American actor Nico Santos, is shown bursting out in Tagalog while arguing with Jon Barinholtz, who plays Marcus.
The Filipino moment was even more tickling as Marcus responds, also in Filipino.
The cursing dialogue notwithstanding, netizens were tickled by the exchange, with Twitter user Sanriel Ajero @sanriel posting, “In this week’s Superstore, Mateo and Marcus got into a cute heated Tagalog argument haha”.
lainey @comergetme said, “i dont rly watch superstore but the tagalog exchange was awesome lmaoo”.
ɢᴏᴘɪxɪᴇ @GoPixie18 spoke us all with the post, “Full Tagalog sentences in an American TV show”.
