Angel Locsin and other local celebrities took action to help Taal Volcano eruption victims.

Actress-philanthropist and real-life Darna Angel Locsin has once again quickly reacted to extend help to disaster victims, this time for the evacuees who fled the Taal Volcano eruption last Sunday.

Locsin, a 2019 Forbes Asia Hero of Philanthropy, immediately went on Twitter and Instagram to call for donations and looked for ways to send help right after the January 12, 2020, Taal Volcano eruption that sent toxic volcanic ash over a wide area from Batangas to Cavite, Metro Manila, and even Rizal province.

Netizens quickly praised Locsin’s efforts as photos of the celebrity packing goods for the Taal Volcano victims were posted on Twitter.

The quick action of Angel Locsin was followed by other Filipino celebrities who also took to volunteering to help the Taal Volcano victims.

Filipino-Italian model-actor Matteo Guidicelli, who joined the Philippine Army, distributed groceries and relief goods to the victims of Taal eruption, specifically to the 200 families in Batangas City.

ABS-CBN actress Jennica Garcia-UyTingco joined the Alliance Search and Rescue Medical Team that went to Neogan, Batangas to distribute relief goods and comforted the victims.

Jennica also asked fans on Instagram to provide lights (solar or candles), N95 masks, toys for the kids, and sleeping materials.

ASAP variety show’s Angeline Quinto also tended to Taal Volcano victims in the evacuation center in Nasugbu, Batangas. The OPM singer personally gave out relief goods that were donated by her, philanthropist Pinky Trobiano, and celebrity doctor Vicki Belo.

The eruption of Taal Volcano has moved ordinary people, social media netizens, and overseas Filipinos to help its victims.

The volcano’s continuing heightened activity had forced some 30,000 families in the affected areas to leave their homes and livelihood as Alert Level 4 remains in force, but the firm determination of Filipinos has also displayed how the people unite in relief campaigns help the victims.

SEND cheers to Angel Locsin and the local celebrities for giving back to the country whose people adored their performances.
