Filipino-British singer-songwriter Beabadoobee is set to make history when she takes the concert stage to perform at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in California this April.

The 21-year-old rising artist becomes the youngest Filipino act to perform at the popular annual music festival in the United States which returns this year after being postponed in 2020 and 2021 amid the novel coronavirus pandemic.

The London-based musician is scheduled to play at the event’s weekend shows on April 17 and April 24, 2022.

Bea will perform on the dates headlined by music supergroup Swedish House Mafia and The Weeknd, the two acts that replaced American rapper Kanye West in the two-weekend festival.

The critically acclaimed indie-pop singer, whose real name is Beatrice Laus, was born in Iloilo City and later immigrated to London with her parents when she was 3 years old.

The musician has shared in previous interviews that she grew up listening to Original Pilipino Music (OPM) such as the Apo Hiking Society and Eraserheads.

Filipino singer-songwriter Eyedress will also be performing at the music festival alongside the Fil-Brit artist on April 17 and April 24.

International musical breakout artist No Rome earlier made history as the first natural-born Filipino to perform in the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in 2019.
