Converge ICT Solutions Inc. is shaking up the broadband scene with BIDA Fiber, its newest and most budget-friendly postpaid internet plan, priced at a mere P888 per month.

Launched in Cebu on September 30, 2023, the plan has quickly become a hit among cost-conscious residents. “We are thrilled to be able to cater to a new market with the most affordable fiber postpaid plan in the market which we are calling BIDA Fiber. For the price of P888, one household can enjoy unlimited data for a month, with speeds of up to 35 Mbps,” says Dennis Anthony Uy, CEO and Co-Founder of Converge.

BIDA Fiber is designed to bridge the gap between prepaid and standard postpaid plans, offering reliable and speedy internet at an affordable rate. Subscribers can connect up to six WiFi-enabled devices simultaneously and enjoy unrestricted web browsing, streaming, and gaming.

This new plan is particularly advantageous for households with online learning or remote work needs, as it comes with no data cap. Other members can engage in simple online activities like gaming or video calls with overseas family without worrying about data limits.

BIDA Fiber also comes with complimentary BlastTV access, a free Value-Added Service (VAS) that enhances entertainment, lifestyle, and sports viewing for Converge subscribers.

Converge is deploying BIDA Fiber through community retailer partners and has already seen significant adoption in Central Luzon. The company aims to extend its reach to metro cities like Pasay, San Juan, Mandaluyong, and Taguig, and expand further in North and South Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao. Currently, BIDA is available in 588 cities and municipalities nationwide.

“Our pivot into the broad mass market segments, along with the prepaid product of S2S, means our network is ready to take on the pent-up demand coming from this broader market. We have 6.1 million fiber ports rolled out to accommodate this demand,” notes Converge Chief Operations Officer Jesus C. Romero.

As of the latter half of 2023, Converge boasts 1.97 million subscribers. Although the majority of subscribers are still in the postpaid segment, the prepaid base is growing steadily.
