Cebu’s Rubilen “Bingkay” Amit has claimed the Top 3 spot in Women’s World Pool Rankings (WPA) after her Silver Medal-winning performance at the 2019 World 9-ball China Open.

The Filipina cue master from Mandaue is Number 3 in the latest rankings released by the World Pool-Billiard Association.

Amit racked up a total of 10,573 points behind the top two positions occupied by Chinese nationals.

Rubilen Amit finished in 2nd place at the 2019 China Open held from September 5-8 in Shanghai.

Earlier in July, Amit also won a Silver at the 32nd Japan 9-Ball Open held in New Pier Hall in Tokyo, Japan.

The two silver-winning performances have pushed Rubilen Amit’s points to secure her third rank on the world pool-billiard rankings.

The University of Santo Tomas Accountancy graduate is a two-time WPA Women’s World Champion, winning the tourney in 2013 and 2009.

Rubilen Amit is one of the four-member women’s pool-billiards Philippines team at the 30th SEA Games to be held from November 30 to December 11, 2019.

Filipino champions in world pool-billiards, Efren Reyes and Django Bustamante, have popularized the sport in the Philippines.

Earlier this year, Carlo Biado also finished Top 2 at the World 9-Ball Championship in Qatar.

Filipino-Canadian professional pool player Alex “The Lion” Pagulayan also dominated the Dixieland Classic Tour in 2018.
