‘Do No Harm’ Premieres at Dances With Films LA Festival, Spotlights American Healthcare | BlogTalk with MJ Racadio

Do No Harm made its world premiere at the Dances With Films Festival on June 19 at the TCL Chinese Theatres in Los Angeles, with cast and crew present for the opening night.

Hollywood, California — Opening night of the Dances With Films: LA 2025 Festival was nothing short of powerful with the world premiere of Do No Harm, a thought-provoking film that takes a hard look at the American healthcare system. The premiere took place on Thursday, June 19, at the iconic TCL Chinese Theatres in Los Angeles.

The cast and crew were in full attendance, including stars Harry Shum Jr. (Grey’s Anatomy, Glee, Everything Everywhere All at Once), Rosaline Elbay (The Diplomat, Kaleidoscope), and Ronny Chieng (Netflix stand-up specials Love to Hate It and Speakeasy).

Written and directed by Chris Hartwell, Do No Harm follows the story of Sam Yeong, a home health nurse overwhelmed by his job. When a simple mistake leads to a tragic outcome for one of his patients, he hides the truth beneath a façade of perfection. The film explores the emotional weight of caregiving and the difficult realities faced by those working in healthcare.

Director Chris Hartwell shared:

“In many ways, I’ve been writing Do No Harm my entire life. My dad is a doctor. My wife is a home health nurse… Their nobility and sacrifice have humbled me. I knew that, one day, I needed to find a way to honor them—and the countless others like them—on screen.”
