British actress Florence Pugh has revealed to fans that she can’t get enough of the Pinoy dish “Lumpiang Shanghai.” Photo from Florence Pugh IG.

English actress Florence Pugh, who starred in “Midsommar” and “Little Women,” highlighted Filipino cuisine as she talked about her love for the Pinoy dish Lumpiang Shanghai on her Instagram account.

In a series of Instagram stories posted on January 14, 2021, the international celebrity revealed to fans that she grew up eating lumpia which was prepared by her part-Filipino best friend’s family.

“I grew up eating lumpia and would literally count down the days until I’d eat it again,” Florence Pugh told her millions of followers on social media.

“My best friend was half Filipino and her mum was a master at cooking. She knew I loved them and would make a batch, freeze them, package them up for me to take home after our sleepover,” she adds.

The British actress who also shares her own cooking tutorials to netizens then followed the post with another photo of the Filipino-style fried spring rolls, asking a friend for recipes and tips on how to prepare lumpia.

“@wonderfulpsyche This may be my next cooking challenge! can your mama share her secrets?” she wrote.

International celebrities who have shared their love for Filipino cuisine include American rapper Cardi B who praised Pinoy food staples lumpiang shanghai and buko salad while Martha Stewart posted her own recipes of the classic Pinoy adobo for fans around the globe.

Hollywood celebrity and singer Selena Gomez will also be showing fans how to prepare the iconic Filipino adobo dish in the second season of her HBO Max cooking show, Selena + Chef.
