Eumir Felix DS Marcial is the Top 2 World Middleweight boxer after bagging the Silver Medal at the AIBA Men’s World Boxing Championships in Ekaterinburg, Russia.

The 23-year-old Eumir Marcial of Zamboanga City is the only boxer from Southeast Asia to win a medal at the event.

The Philippine Air Force officer battled Bakshi Gleb of Russia for the World Champion title in the Middleweight (75kg) category.

The Filipino boxer went into the Middleweight Finals Match on September 21 after a decisive win via Unanimous decision, 5-0, in the semi-finals against the tourney’s third strongest qualifier Kulakhamet Tursynbay of Kazakhstan.

The two-time Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games) gold medalist and Junior World Champion is now preparing for the 2019 SEA Games slated for November 30 until December 11 in the Philippines.

Eumir Marcial started a YouTube Channel on October 2 to document his journey towards the 30th SEA Games and the Olympics Qualifiers.

His latest YouTube videos show the Gold-winning performance of fellow Filipino boxing champion Nesthy Petecio who has claimed the 2019 AIBA Women’s World Championship Featherweight title.

Eumir Marcial and Nesthy Petecio both claimed gold medals at the 2018 Korotkov Memorial Boxing Championships in Khabarovsk, Russia.
