Philippine College Radio Congress 2019

College radios in the Philippines are coming together again for the fourth time in as many years for the Philippine College Radio Congress (PCRC) at the University of the Philippines.
Some 300 select media and communication students, faculty, scholars, professionals, and college radio practitioners and enthusiasts from across major island groups of the country are expected to converge at the annual academic congress scheduled for November 26-28, 2019 at the University of the Philippines Diliman College of Mass Communication (UP CMC).
Organized by the UP Department of Broadcast Communication, a Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Center of Excellence in Broadcasting, and DZUP 1602, the official AM radio station of UP Diliman, the PCRC returns for its fourth year with the theme “Back to Basics” that organizers say is intended “to re-inculcate the fundamental principles and skills that a responsible, knowledgeable, and equipped media practitioner should possess in a rapidly evolving and innovating world.”
Among the PCRC 2019 features:
- creative and hands-on sessions on voice acting, college radio newsroom, and acoustics and recording
- lectures on broadcast ethics, history, management
- Master classes designed for teachers and educators on teaching ethics and on OBE-dizing communication and media curriculum
