Lukas Janisch, a 13-year-old Filipino-Austrian, is the new champion of The Voice Kids Germany 2016.
Lukas, referred to by the talent show as “The Soul Man” won the most number of votes after playing the piano as he sang his finale song, “When We Were Young” by Adele.

Mark Foster mentored Lukas on his way to the finals of The Voice Kids after the boy chose the musician at the blind auditions much to the dismay of the other two coaches, Lena Meyer-Landrut and Sasha, who were intensely wooing him to pick them instead.
Lukas also played the piano at the auditions where he sang Alicia Keys’ “Fallin.”
Lukas has been interviewed about his mother, a Filipina reportedly from Leyte, who he says brought him up singing karaoke.
