Filipinas bag gold and silvers at Jiu Jitsu World Tour in London

Three Filipina athletes won top medals at the London leg of the Abu Dhabi Grand Slam Jiu Jitsu World Tour 2017-2018, finishing within the Top 10 for the Asia region.

Margarita “Meggie Ochoa” won the -49kg Women’s Purple gold medal.
Annie Ramirez claimed a silver medal in the -62kg Women’s Purple Belt division.

Kaila Napolis picked up a silver at the Women’s -55kg category.

The three national athletes are currently ranked in the female adult purple category of the tour’s Asia Top 10 as follows:

  • Annie Ramirez at #5 with 320 points, 2 silver medals
  • Kaila Napolic at #6 with 260 points, 1 gold, 1 silver
  • Margarita Ochoa at #8 with 250 points, 1 gold

The medal haul of the three athletes were reported by the Jiu Jitsu Federation of the Philippines.

Ramirez, Napolis, and Ochoa are next scheduled to compete at the Abu Dhabi World Pro in April, European Jiujitsu Championships in June and the Thailand Open on June 16.
