Filipino hiphop dance crew UPeepz excited fans in their successful bid for the World of Dance (WOD) semis round.
The multi-awarded dance group from the Philippines aced their performance at The Duels round and is now among the Top 12 semifinalists of the WOD.
UPeepz went on Facebook to gather support from the Pinoy audience with a teaser of their dance moves.
“We made it to the top 12 teams in World of Dance Season 4!” announced UPeepz said on its FB post on August 7, 2020, that came with their photo on WOD stage wearing their costume with Filipino elements and patterns.
“Always representing the motherland. Show some love if you’re a proud Pinoy!” the two-time gold medalist at the World Hip Hop Dance Championships.
The 9-year-old world-class dance crew first bested The Rise dance group during The Duels on July 1 to earn the spot in the semis of the international dance competition.
UPeepz dressed as bellboys and executed their impressive routine with the song “Hotel Room Service” of American singer-songwriter-rapper Pitbull.
Based on the snippets of the UPeepz’s semis performance, the team has infused Filipino elements in their routine with the hope of shining above the 11 other dance crews.
“You got to impress me, man…” World of Dance judge Ne-Yo said in an interview with the NBCLA on August 4 on what they are looking for in dance crews on their show.
“You gonna work for it. You gonna work hard for it. You gonna step outside of your comfort zone and you gonna push your limit.
“Should you do this successfully then I will give you one million dollars,” the multi-awarded R&B recording artist concluded.
Catch UPeepz’s performance on the World of Dance on Tuesday, August 11, at 8 PM on NBC (US Time) and on August 12, at 10 AM (Philippine Time).
The Peepz branding is recognized in the World of Dance since their junior crew, VPeepz, was crowned the division champs in Season 3 under the direction of UPeepz team captain and choreographer Chips Beltran.
