Props and set pieces from the prison drama film Green Bones are now being put to good use by Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDL) in Manila.

This heartwarming update was shared by GMA Pictures, the film production arm of GMA Network. The award-winning film was co-produced with GMA Public Affairs and Brightburn Entertainment.
In a Facebook post on August 18, 2025, GMA Pictures announced that the PDLs are now using the items they donated back in February this year.
“PROPS AT SET PIECES NG ‘GREEN BONES,’ NAGAGAMIT NA NG MGA PDL (PROPS AND SET PIECES OF ‘GREEN BONES’ NOW BEING USED BY PDLs),” the Kapuso film production company shared.
“Ang bunk beds, mesa, at plato na ginamit sa pelikulang ‘Green Bones’, napapakinabangan na ngayon ng persons deprived of liberty (PDL) ng Manila City Jail (The bunk beds, tables, and plates used in the film Green Bones are now benefiting the Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDL) at Manila City Jail),” they added.
“Pebrero nitong taon nang i-turn over ng GMA Pictures ang mga gamit para sa Celda Sesenta, kung saan mamamalagi ang mga senior citizen na PDL (The turnover took place in February this year for Celda Sesenta, the facility where senior citizen PDLs are housed).”
This humanitarian gesture comes full circle, as the film itself tells the story of a PDL. Directed by Zig Dulay, Green Bones swept major awards at the 2024 Metro Manila Film Festival—the festival’s 50th edition—winning Best Screenplay, Best Cinematography, and Best Picture.
Its cast also earned acting honors, including Best Child Performer for Sienna Stevens, Best Supporting Actor for Ruru Madrid, and Best Actor for Dennis Trillo.
