Tonight, GoodNewsPilipinas.com stands among the elite at the Philippines’ most prestigious PR event, the 59th Anvil Awards. Dubbed the ‘Oscars of Public Relations’, this grand occasion, taking place at the Marriott Grand Ballroom in Newport City, Manila, marks a convergence of the nation’s top PR and communication professionals.
The Gabi ng Parangal awards night, themed as a celebration of the “best work across our industry that moves audiences to action, changes perceptions, and advocates for good,” will see nearly 500 entries from over 100 companies competing for the Grand Anvil and Platinum Anvil awards. These awards celebrate the year’s most impactful PR campaigns and tools, showcasing innovation and effectiveness in the field.
GoodNewsPilipinas.com, a beacon for positive storytelling, is in the running for Best Publication. This award evaluates content quality, creativity, digital engagement, and overall impact. Representing the team are Managing Editor Angie Quadra-Balibay and Marketing Manager Margo Hannah Quadra, both previously recognized by the Lasallian Scholarum Awards for their exemplary feature writing.
Angie Quadra-Balibay expressed gratitude, saying, “We at GoodNewsPilipinas.com are immensely grateful to the Public Relations Society of the Philippines and the Anvil Awards for recognizing our online publication as one of the country’s finest. This esteemed acknowledgment not only highlights our commitment to delivering uplifting stories to Filipinos both at home and across the globe but also celebrates our 18-year journey.”
“From our humble beginnings as an advocacy site among journalists and supportive friends, we have evolved into a dynamic multi-platform hub. Our mission has always been to share narratives that evoke pride in every Filipino, celebrating our remarkable achievements and rich heritage. This honor from the Anvil Awards is a testament to our enduring pledge of ‘Making Every Filipino Proud,’” shared Angie Quadra-Balibay, speaking on behalf of the GoodNewsPilipinas.com team.
Judging and Awards
The Anvil Awards, presented by the Public Relations Society of the Philippines (PRSP) for nearly six decades, symbolize excellence in Philippine PR. Entries undergo rigorous three-phase evaluation by distinguished local and international panels of screeners, judges, and multi-sectoral jurors. Lending credence to the judging process is SGV, the Official Tabulator of the 59th Anvil Awards.
This year, the Anvils incorporated international award best practices and introduced the categories Best Use of Digital, Best Use of Social Media; and and Best PR-led Integrated Campaign.
The event will recognize top PR achievements with Silver and Gold Anvils, along with the special Grand Anvil for the most outstanding PR Program and Platinum Anvil for the most outstanding PR Tool. The prestigious Agency of the Year and Company of the Year will also be announced.
Leah Huang, Chairperson of the 59th Anvil Awards and Managing Director at Ogilvy, highlighted the event’s significance: “Now more than ever, the value that PR brings to the table is evident. Building trust and credibility, PR initiatives and content catalyze resharing among influencers, creating a ripple effect that can influence opinions, shift perceptions, and drive advocacies and culture.”
The 59th Anvil Awards Gabi ng Parangal is co-presented by San Miguel Corporation with major sponsors PAG-IBIG Fund and Ayala Corporation; Official Hotel Partner Hotel Okura and Technology Partner Glimsol Web & Digital Solutions.
