H.E.R. repeats 5 Grammy nominations, gets Record and Song of the Year nods

H.E.R. received five (5) new Grammy nominations from the Recording Academy in Hollywood, a repeat of her record number of nods at the 2018 Grammys.

H.E.R.’s 5 nominations for the 62nd Grammy Awards scheduled in January 2020 puts the Filipino-African American R&B singer in competition for the three (3) major general music awards – Record of the Year, Song of the Year, and again, Album of the Year.

The songwriter and multi-instrumentalist who debuted on the Grammys stage with two wins at the 61st edition of the recording industry awards in 2018 was announced on November 20 as a nominee in five categories out of the 84 awards to be given out by the American recording industry.

The 2020 GRAMMY Awards nominations for H.E.R.:

H.E.R. debuted on the Grammys stage last year with two big wins out of the five nominations she received:

  • Album of the year for “H.E.R.”
  • Best New Artist
  • Best R&B Song “Focus”
  • Best R&B Album “H.E.R.”
  • Best R&B Performance “Best Part”

H.E.R. won the 61st Grammys for Best R&B Performance for her “Best Part” featuring Daniel Caesar and Best R&B Album for her self-titled album.

H.E.R. started her music career as Gabi Wilson and then rebranded as H.E.R. – Having Everything Revealed.

The 22-year-old was born of a Filipina mother and an African American father and was raised embracing Filipino culture and values.
