Hidilyn Diaz returned to the Philippines triumphant with her triple silver medals from the Asian Weightlifting Championships held in China.

The 2018 Asian Games gold medalist won three silver medals at the 2019 AWF Asian Weightlifting Championship which serves as one of the qualifying events for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics:

2. Clean & Jerk (115)

Good News Pilipinas learned from Diaz’s manager Noel Ferrer that after winning her fight, Hidilyn immediately sent word to the Philippines saying, “Salamat po sa lahat ng sumuporta at magdasal para sa akin. Nagbunga naman po ang training ko sa China at may ibubunga pa. Kapit lang po! Mabuhay ang Atletang Pilipino! (Thanks to all who supported and prayed for me. My training in China bore fruit and I have more to give. Holding on! Long love the Filipino athlete!)”

Diaz, the first Filipina to give the Philippines an Olympic medal winning a silver at the 2016 Rio Olympics, went on social media to speak of her dream to get the elusive Olympic Gold for the Philippines.
