Filipino innovator Illac Diaz of Liter of Light is using Filipino technology to create inexpensive solar lamps from recycled plastic soda bottles to light up communities in the Philippines and around the world.

Diaz and his team are now on board the Voyage of Light on the Peace Boat in a solar lighting tour across the world in 100 days, teaching volunteers how to create lamps using the Filipino tech and locally sourced materials.

UNESCO has included the Voyage of Light in its official calendar for the International Day of Light 2019.
