Jollibee, the popular Filipino food restaurant chain, has opened its first store in Edmonton, Alberta. The new store is the food giant’s fifth in Canada.

Jollibee Edmonton opened its doors on August 16 to welcome customers who lined up for 3 days outside the store in anticipation of the newest branch in the country.

Jollibee surprised its Edmonton customers with various treats on top of its popular regular fare of Jolly Crispy Chicken, Jolly Spaghetti, Peace Mango Pie, and more.

The Filipino fast-food chain treated selected fans on Facebook for an advance tasting of its menu on the eve of August 16. On Opening Day, the store awarded one year’s supply of Jolly Crispy Chicken to the first 50 people in line.

Jollibee Edmonton also held a Best Signage contest carrying the hashtag #ItsOurTurn – referring to Jollibee Canada’s target to open 100 stores in 5 years. Jollibee Foods Corporation Founder Tony Tan Caktiong earlier revealed that their international target is to grow much faster than the Philippine market.
