Filipinos Josh Yugen, Furne Amato, and Maggie Wilson are among the council members of the first-ever Miss Universe UAE pageant hosted in Dubai.
Josh Yugen of Xpedition Magazine has been named the President and National Director of Miss Universe UAE, while world-renowned fashion designer Furne Amato has been appointed the Head of Creatives, Fashion and Design.
Filipina beauty queen and TV host Maggie Wilson will be the pageant’s Creative Consultant.
The Miss Universe organization announced the inclusion of Yugen, Amato, and Wilson among the members of its council “Graced with the power of wisdom, cocooned with the armour of compassion and blossoming with the love for the extraordinary” in its Instagram post on October 9, 2021.
Miss Universe UAE has scheduled its Grand Casting Day for October 15 where the top 300 applicants will be chosen.
The premiere edition of the prestigious pageant will be held live and in partnership with the entertainment venue La Perle at Al Habtoor City, Dubai.
“It is such an honour for Yugen Events to partner with an organization like Miss Universe, who has been in the industry for the last 70 years – inspiring and empowering women from all over the world,” the new President and National Director of Miss Universe UAE, Josh Yugen, announced on the Instagram page of Yugen Events.
“Miss Universe UAE is not just a parade of beauty or celebration of intelligence but moreover she is a paragon of a purposeful queen and a heart to serve and help through her advocacies,” Yugen adds.
The three-hour historic event will feature women representing the beauty and essence of the United Arab Emirates. Contestants will be competing in multiple categories, including personal statement, couture activewear, evening gown, and interview.
