Filipino teen basketball player Kai Zachary Sotto was named the Most Valuable Player (MVP) after leading The Skill Factory National to a championship at the King Invitational in Atlanta, Georgia.

The 7-foot-2 Filipino teenager averaged 27 points, 10.6 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 4.3 blocks to win the MVP citation at the King Invitational tournament held from January 18 to 20, 2020, at the Brandon Hall Academy in Atlanta.

Sotto, wearing Jersey #30, also registered massive outputs of 22-11-5-4 against Middle George Prep and 34-11-6-4 against Texas’ Strength in Motion.

The aspiring National Basketball Association (NBA) player flew to Atlanta, Georgia to train, hone skills, and improve his chances of becoming the first-ever full-blooded Filipino to be drafted in the NBA.

He is currently a four-star recruit and ranks no. 11 in the projected big men list of the 2021 NBA Draft Class. Sotto continuously amazed the audiences with slam dunk skills that he showed in the tournament.

The Skill Factory announced Sotto’s selection as MVP on January 21 at the same time his team The Skill Factory was declared King Invitational 2020 Champions.

The rising Pinoy basketball star has definitely caught the attention of the U.S. National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division 1 schools as he continues to be scouted by top colleges and universities.

His Philippine team, the Ateneo Blue Eagles, was the University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP) Season 80 & 81 Junior Champion. Kai Sotto was named the UAAP Season 81 Junior Basketball MVP. Sotto is the son of former PBA Champion Ervin Sotto. He made to the mythical 5 team during the 2016 FIBA U16 Championships. Kai Sotto is a member of Gilas Cadets.
