Kandila | TulaToonz

Today’s TulaToonz from Edelio P. De los Santos.

We keep it alive when we mourn, and put it out on happy occasions.

“Kandila” is a dalit, a traditional Filipino poem with 4 lines and 8 syllables per line, and in this cartoon, is used as a riddle.

Steven Claude Tubo is from Marikina, currently taking up BSED-Filipino at ICCT Colleges. He is also a member of the poet organization Linangan sa Imahen, Retorika at Anyo (LIRA). He believes he is handsome.
