Filipina actresses Kathryn Bernardo and Dolly de Leon are teaming up in the dark comedy “A Very Good Girl” to be directed by Petersen Vargas for ABS-CBN Films.
The two movie artists’ previous films were historic and told stories about Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs), with Bernardo marking her return to the big screen after the all-time highest-grossing Philippine movie, “Hello, Love, Goodbye”, was screened internationally and received critical acclaim in 2019, and first Filipina Golden Globes nominee De Leon’s 2022 international film “Triangle of Sadness” winning recognitions from the Oscars and Cannes’, among several other award-giving bodies.
The upcoming film collaboration was announced during Kathryn Bernardo’s New Movie Alert event on March 27.
“It’s such an honor because I would be working with — and she agreed to work with me — with the one and only Ms. Dolly de Leon, ohmigod,” Bernardo shared during the live-streamed event.
It was also revealed during the event that De Leon and Bernardo had worked together before when the latter was younger.
“A Very Good Girl”, written by Marionne Dominique Mancol, with creative manager Carmi Raymundo and creative supervisor Daniel Saniana, is slated to be released later this year.
