Lav Diaz returns to Cannes after 6 years with new film “Ang Hupa.” Credits to Ang Hupa.

Multi award-winning Filipino filmmaker Lav Diaz is on his way to the Cannes Film Festival with his new film, “Ang Hupa” (“The Halt”).

The film’s social media announced its inclusion in the 51st Quinzaine des Réalisateurs – Directors’ Fornight selection at the 2019 Cannes Film Festival.

The Spring Films and Sine Olivia Pilipinas production is headlined by Piolo Pascual and Shaina Magdayao and will be screened at the 72nd Cannes Film Festival scheduled from May 14-25, 2019.

Diaz, who joined the Oscars Academy in 2018, is a recipient of multiple directorial citations around the world.

In 2013, Lav Diaz was also in the Cannes selection with his critically-acclaimed film Norte, Hangganan ng Kasaysayan.
