Makati in Full Color New Year’s Eve countdown at Ayala Avenue with live Filipino performances

Crowds gather along Ayala Avenue as Makati in Full Color returns with live performances and a citywide New Year’s Eve countdown.

Makati is set to welcome the new year with a large-scale, people-first celebration as Ayala Avenue becomes the venue for “Makati in Full Color: Ayala Avenue New Year’s Eve Countdown to 2026,” a publicly accessible event highlighting Filipino music, creativity, and community.

The New Year’s Eve celebration takes place on December 31 along Ayala Avenue, beginning at 6:00 p.m., as the city opens its streets for live performances and a collective countdown to 2026. The event is part of the broader Makati in Color campaign led by Ayala Land, the local government of Makati, and Make It Makati, and continues the countdown’s renewed focus on global Filipino artists since its relaunch in 2023.

Headlining the event are rock icon Ely Buendia and chart-topping band Cup of Joe, representing both legacy and contemporary Filipino sounds. They are joined by Morissette, Juan Karlos, Sofronio Vasquez III, Divine Divas, and Theater Group Asia’s production of “A Chorus Line,” offering a mix of popular music and theatrical performances throughout the evening.

As midnight approaches, the Makati skyline will be illuminated by a fireworks display accompanied by a Filipino-inspired ball drop, marking the official welcome of 2026 with themes of optimism, hope, and shared celebration.

For attendees seeking a more premium experience, VIP tickets are available through TicketWorld, granting access to a dedicated lounge with buffet dinner service and prime viewing areas while remaining within the main event grounds.

Festivities continue beyond the countdown, with a street party led by DJ Cupcakes, followed by an after-party featuring The Studio Dance Club at Ayala Triangle Gardens, extending the celebration into the early hours of the new year.

Organizers describe Makati in Full Color as more than a year-end event, positioning it as a reflection of Makati’s ongoing evolution as a city that supports culture, creativity, and inclusive public experiences. The celebration is presented by Ayala Land, the local government of Makati, and Make It Makati, with Ayala Corporation, Globe Telecom, Circuit Makati, and Avida providing additional support.
