When international pop diva Mariah Carey viewed the YouTube cover of “Hero” by Filipinos Aldrich and James she had nothing but praises to say.

The best-selling female artist was seen on the May 23 episode of Glamour Magazine’s “You Sang My Song” reacting and commenting on unique covers of her songs on YouTube, including that of Filipino duo Aldrich and James.

Aldrich Lloyd Talonding, 15 yrs old, on vocals and James Walter Bucong, 19 yrs old, on guitar created the YouTube cover of “Hero” in 2014 which was included in the Glamour episode featuring Carey.

“He’s amazing…” the five-time Grammy winner said of the General Santos City singer.

“Aldrich and James. I love the rendition, amazing.”

The duo commented on the Glamour video thanking the magazine and saying, “thank you to the legendary Mariah Carey for actually watching and appreciating us, not to mention “MENTIONING OUR NAMES”. What a surprise and a great pleasure and honor.”

The Filipino teens are known to be YouTube singing sensations with a viral video showing a performance of Luther Vandoss’ “Dance with my Father.” The viral video was also their ticket to a guest spot on Ellen DeGeneres’ “The Ellen Show.”
