MEET: Eddie Garcia, multi awarded veteran actor | Good News Pilipinas! TV Filipino Pride Advocates

Meet Eddie Garcia, the veteran Filipino actor who more recently was seen on Metro Manila Film Festival’s Rainbow’s Sunset as an old man who decides to be outed as gay to care for his sick lover, and on television as Don Emilio Syquia of the longest running action series, FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano.

Born Eduardo Verchez García and popularly known for his “Manoy” character, the multi-awarded film and television actor and director holds the distinction of having appeared in the most number of Philippine movies, and is the only individual inducted in three categories in the FAMAS Hall of Fame: Best Actor, Best Supporting Actor, and Best Director.

Good News Pilipinas talked to Eddie Garcia after he received recognition for film acting and directing with the “Natatanging Hiyas Ng Sining Sa Pelikula” (Highest Honors for Film) given by the Guild of Mentors, Educators, and Students (GEMS).
