Filipino-American actress and hit singer-songwriter Olivia Rodrigo has bagged double wins in the recently concluded Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards in California, U.S.A.

The teenage pop sensation and three-time Grammy winner won “Favorite Breakout Artist” over fellow nominees including Fil-Am rapper Saweetie, American rapper Jack Harlow, and the band Glass Animals, among others.

Rodrigo, the star of Disney’s “High School Musical: The Series,” also took home the award for “Favorite Female TV Star” for her role as Nini Salazar-Roberts in the show.

The 19-year-old pop phenom was not able to attend the awards ceremony in-person and thanked fans in her video acceptance speech shared on Instagram.

Rodrigo, who earlier told “Good Morning America” that she was proud to represent the Filipino community, is currently on tour for her record-breaking debut album, Sour, after winning the 64th annual Grammy Awards.

The Fil-Am artist was also nominated in the “Favorite Global Music Star” category, which was won by global superstar Adele in this year’s event.

Hosted by actress Miranda Cosgrove and NFL superstar Rob Gronkowski, the 2022 Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards (KCAs) aired live from the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, California, on April 9, 2022.

This year’s awards honored children’s favorites across the worlds of film, television, music, sports, and more. The star-studded event featured music performances from Kid Cudi and Jack Harlow, as well as a special appearance from the First Lady of the United States Dr. Jill Biden, and many more.

Olivia Rodrigo was earlier named Time Magazine’s Entertainer of the Year and bagged top honors in Billboard’s annual Women in Music awards with fellow Fil-Am artists Saweetie and H.E.R.
