Pinoy pop (P-pop) sensation SB19 has taken its spot alongside the world’s Top 20 Best Modern Boy Bands, ranked on the MsMojo best-of-list of the best guy groups that rose to fame after the year 2000.
The P-pop supergroup composed of Pablo, Josh, Stell, Ken, and Justin, was introduced on the MsMojo list at rank No. 20 and vying for the world’s attention despite the dominance of Kpop from the Hallyu wave of Korea.
“The incredibly talented ensemble blends a wide variety of musical stylings and sensibilities to form a wholly unique sound. SB19’s ambitious choices have helped them become trailblazers for a new generation of Filipino music,” observes MsMojo, a leading producer of reference online video content of Top Lists ranking for Pop Culture.
The Top 20 list also notes how SB19 rose to fame in 2019 after going viral and afterward making music history by being the first Filipino music act to earn finalist spot in the Billboard Music Awards and being named the Philippines’ youth ambassadors for representing the country’s culture and stories around the world.
The Top 20 Modern Boy Bands by MsMojo list released on March 29, 2023, is led by K-pop superband, BTS, the world-renowned Korean boy group which was once toppled by SB19’s “Bazinga” off the No. 1 spot on the Billboard Hot Trending Songs chart.
SB19 continues to make history on the Billboard charts with “WYAT” debuting in the Top 4, scoring an MTV Europe nomination, and its “Hanggang sa Huli” topping the Billboard LyricFind global chat.
