Miss Philippines Anne Remojo Apas of Puerto Princesa City won the 2019 Miss Tourism Beauty of the World 1st Runner-up title.

The Filipina beauty and travel show host shined among the candidates from different parts to the world and was hailed as the 1st princess in the pageant held in El Nido, Palawan from October 7 to 19.

The Puerto Princesa Tourism Ambassadress paid tribute to the Filipino farmers in her rice field-inspired national costume designed by Jobel Silvestre.

In the question and answer segment, Miss Philippines shared about her diving experiences and the importance of marine life conservation.

Apas shared how she went diving and “visited the best island and the best diving site in the world which is the Tubbataha Reef in Cagayancillo in Palawan.”

The travel show host raised the issue of plastic waste that pose threats to marine creatures such as schools of fish and turtles that she encountered during her scuba diving trips in the blue waters of Palawan.

Apas warned against human carelessness, saying, “Let us remember that this planet is not only for humans to live (in) but for every living creature that God has created in this world.”

  • Miss Tourism Beauty of the World 2019 – Devoney Crossman, South Africa
  • First Princess (1st Runner-up) – Anne Remojo Apas, Philippines
  • Second Princess (2nd Runner-up) – Manussanun Limjanphapphap, Thailand

With her achievement in the 2019 Miss Tourism Beauty of the World pageant, Anne Remojo Apas joins the Philippines’ pageant front runners who advocate for tourism.

Just this August, Yves Campos of Cebu was crowned Mister Tourism and Culture Universe 2019 in Yangon, Myanmar while his female counterpart, Roxanne Baeyens of Baguio City, won the Miss Tourism and Culture Universe 2019 1st Runner-up title.

In July, four pageant titles were brought home by Filipinos from Malaysia including: Leandrea Batingan of San Jose Del Monte, Bulacan hailed as the Miss Tourism Ambassador Universe 2019 and Kurt Michael Primicias of Calasiao, Pangasinan who won the Mister Tourism Ambassador World.

Pampanga’s Franchesca Taruc took home the country’s first international pageant crown in 2019 after winning the Miss Tourism World 2019 Intercontinental title in China in January.
