Filipino child singer Peter Rosalita received the judges’ nods with a standing ovation in his return today on NBC’s America’s Got Talent (AGT) via the All Stars 2023 edition, a competition among selected winners, finalists, and popular contestants of the Got Talent reality TV show.

The 11-year-old AGT 2021 Semi-Finalist’s rendition of Michael Bolton’s “Go The Distance” from Disney’s 1997 animated feature film, Hercules, was praised by judges Heidi Klum, Howie Mandel, and was even predicted by head judge Simon Cowell to signal the boy’s journey to the AGT Finals this season.

Rosalita received another standing ovation in the AGT All Stars episode on January 29 (January 30 Philippine time), reminiscent of his 2021 audition with “All By Myself” which caught the attention of international superstar Celine Dion.

The United Arab Emirates-born Rosalita said he was more determined to journey to the finals this time and better his semi-finals finish in AGT Season 16 which saw the boy falter with a hiccup at the start of his semis performance.

“I got far to the semifinals and I got very nervous, and there was that hiccup,” Rosalita recalled his request to repeat the start of the song in the semis. He eventually lost his spot in the finals after that performance.

“Being on America’s Got Talent changed my life. Now that I’m back, I feel more confident and I grew a little. This is my second chance. I’m gonna make sure that there will be no hiccups,” added Rosalita who has been performing in shows both in the UAE and the Philippines since his AGT stint.

“You are a star in the making. You really came here to fight, and I loved that about you,” declared Klum after Rosalita’s audition performance.

“Peter, you are very old-fashioned, in terms of what you wear, the kind of song you sing. However, your voice has actually got better. I know there’s still a lot from you to come. Having said that, that might be enough to put you through to the finals,” predicted Cowell.

“This kid’s got talent! Peter Rosalita makes his family in the Philippines proud with this amazing rendition of ‘Go The Distance’,” AGT social media captioned its early release video.
