Here is the list to be considered for your planning and celebrations throughout the year in the Philippines this 2024.

Filipinos can use this full list of official non-working days in the Philippines this 2024 to plan for how to spend the holidays and mark celebrations this year.

The Philippines officially announced its calendar of regular and special non-working holidays for the year 2024 through Proclamation 368, released last October and incorporated in the Department of Labor and Employment calendar.

The 18 days in the calendar include the first long weekend of the year from March 28 to 31 during the observance of Holy Week.

Regular holidays include:

  • January 1 (Monday): New Year’s Day
  • March 28 (Thursday): Maundy Thursday
  • March 29 (Friday): Good Friday
  • April 9 (Tuesday): Araw ng Kagitingan
  • May 1 (Wednesday): Labor Day
  • June 12 (Wednesday): Independence Day
  • August 26 (Monday): National Heroes Day
  • November 30 (Saturday): Bonifacio Day
  • December 25 (Wednesday): Christmas Day
  • December 30 (Monday): Rizal Day

Special non-working days are:

  • August 21 (Wednesday): Ninoy Aquino Day
  • November 1 (Friday): All Saints’ Day
  • December 8 (Sunday): Feast of the Immaculate Conception of Mary
  • December 31 (Tuesday): Last Day of the Year

Further special non-working days include:

  • February 10 (Saturday): Chinese New Year
  • March 30 (Saturday): Black Saturday
  • November 2 (Saturday): All Souls’ Day
  • December 24 (Tuesday): Christmas Eve

The proclamation also notes that dates for Eid’l Fitr and Eid’l Adha will be announced later, based on the Islamic calendar and astronomical calculations as recommended by the National Commission on Muslim Filipinos.

The year 2024 is a leap year of 366 days instead of the usual 365 with the addition of February 29 to the calendar.
