The Filipina model from Quezon City won her three titles in the competition’s Grand Finals in Mumbai on April 2, 2022 (April 3, Manila time).

The inaugural Miss Environment International Pageant aims to present and spread awareness about environment conservation and the protection of natural resources.

Kayra Wouters of Belgium was crowned as the beauty pageant’s first-ever winner.

This year’s representatives from South Sudan, Peru, and Zimbabwe were named the second, third, and fourth runner-ups, respectively.

Michelle Arceo thanked everyone who supported her journey in the beauty pageant.

“To everyone who made this journey possible. Thank you for filling my heart with so much love and support. I am so proud to have carried the Philippine sash across my heart and raise our flag on the international stage. I know I gave my absolute all and I promise I will work even harder next time! I’m not quitting here. If one door closes another will open,” Michelle Arceo wrote in an Instagram post.

“Thank you to my core team for making me into the queen I am today. Without each and every one of you, I couldn’t have succeeded. It truly takes a village to create a queen,” Arceo added.

Another Filipina beauty queen who recently took home the crown for advocating for environmental awareness is Miss Eco International 2022 Kathleen Paton, who successfully raised the country’s flag in Egypt after beauty queen-turned-actress Thia Thomalla won the pageant in 2018.

Batangueña beauty Jerelleen Rodriguez, a student at the University of the Philippines (UP) College of Law, has also been crowned Reina Internacional del Chocolate 2022 in a competition that aims to promote the chocolate industry among its participating countries.
