Multi-awarded writer Ricky Lee is offering his popular scriptwriting workshop online for free to help film workers under community quarantine in the Philippines.

“Magkakalayo man tayo ngayon, ilalapit tayo ng kwento. Magbasa. Magsulat. Magkwento (Though we apart now, stories will bring us together. Read. Write. Tell your story),” the art card of the Ricky Lee Writing Workshop said.

Cinema Centenario Facebook announced on March 22, 2020, that Lee will be holding the free online workshop on April 8, 15, and 22.

Cinema Centenario said that the Ricky Lee Writing Workshop, with the Director’s Guild of the Philippines and the Lupon ng Pilipinong Sinematograpo in partnership with the Lockdown Cinema Club, is part of a campaign to raise funds for displaced film workers affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

To join, applicants must be at least 18 years old and a Filipino citizen. The workshop will be limited to 50 participants only.
