Young Filipino celebrity Scarlet Snow Belo and her family have adopted a baby rhinoceros from the Lewa Wildlife Conservancy in Meru, Kenya.

The Philippines’ youngest-ever tourism ambassador shared about her family’s recent African Safari trip on January 3, 2021, using the Instagram account managed by Scarlet’s celebrity doctor parents, Vicki Belo and Hayden Kho, Jr.

“Guess what, peoples! We’re adoptIng a younger brother for me. Do you want to know who he is? He’s a baby rhinoceros!” Scarlet Snow wrote.

“He needs our love and protection because poachers killed his parents to get their horns,” Scarlet said. “So, Daddy and Mommy agreed that our family will adopt him. I get to name him and I’m thinking of calling him, “Plasty the Belo Rhino.”

The newly “adopted” rhino by the 5-year-old Scarlet Snow will be given full financial support by the Belo-Kho family. It will remain in the wildlife reservation in Lewa which serves as a safe refuge for the critically endangered black rhino and the endangered Grevy’s zebra, as well as other iconic species of elephant, lion, giraffe, and wild dog in Kenya.

According to Scarlet Snow Belo, the money will go to the veterinarians and rhino rangers of Lewa Wildlife who are making sure that critically endangered animals like “Plasty” the rhino are kept safe and healthy.

“There’s not many rhinos left on earth so they really need the protection of us kiddie rangers!” Scarlet Snow adds.

The young daughter of celebrity doctors Vicki Belo and Hayden Kho, Jr., earlier opted to use her creativity to raise funds for test kits made by Filipino scientists.

Scarlet Snow Belo successfully put her drawings on auction to raise funds for Filipino scientists in the frontline of the fight against the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).
