SM Markets is set to open 10 to 15 new stores outside the National Capital Region (NCR) in 2024, bringing modern grocery shopping to more Filipino communities.
This expansion aligns with SM Markets’ commitment to serving provincial areas with quality, affordable products, and exceptional service. The addition will bring SM Markets’ total to over 350 stores nationwide, with more than 70% located outside NCR.
The umbrella brand, which includes SM Supermarket, SM Hypermarket, and Savemore Market, aims to enhance lives by providing convenient access to daily essentials. SM Markets will support local MSMEs by featuring their products on store shelves and in weekend markets.
Three new stores are scheduled to open in the first half of 2024:
- Mati (Davao Oriental)
- Marilao (Bulacan)
- Naujan (Mindoro)
Earlier openings this year include:
- Savemore Siniloan (Laguna)
- Savemore Pantukan (Davao de Oro)
- Savemore Hotel Supreme (Baguio)
- SM Supermarket Caloocan

As of now, SM Markets operates 66 Supermarkets, 54 Hypermarkets, and 223 Savemore stores. This follows a successful 2023 where 12 new stores opened, including two SM Cherry branches in Aklan and Rizal.
SM Supermarket, SM Hypermarket, and Savemore each cater to specific needs. SM Supermarket offers a wide range of food items within SM malls, SM Hypermarket combines supermarket and department store features, and Savemore provides convenient grocery options for communities.
Since its first store in SM Makati in 1985, SM Markets has continually evolved to meet customer demands, bringing a superior shopping experience closer to Filipino homes.
