Tacloban City’s Gabrielle Basiano wins 1st runner up in Miss Friendship International 2019 in China

Gabrielle Camille Basiano from Tacloban City won the Miss Friendship International 2019 first runner-up title in the global pageant held in Chengdu, China.

Gabrielle Basiano’s success in the international pageant held on July 27 followed the triumph of the Philippine pageant representatives who bagged 4 titles from the Mister & Miss Tourism Ambassador Universe pageant in Malaysia in July.

The Filipina beauty competed against 48 candidates from all over the world, one month after she was crowned as the Philippines’ first Ambassadress of Tourism.

Basiano, a top model and beauty queen in the Philippines, was one of the Asian candidates who dominated the pageant’s top 6 and eventually awarded the first runner-up title in a tie with Lorena Rodrigues of Brazil.

The 21-year-old tourism student also showcased Filipino art and culture in her
Sarimanok warrior-inspired national costume created by Razen Montero.
