The University of the Philippines (UP) listing in Times Higher Education World University Rankings (THE WUR) for Asia Pacific has risen to the top 101-110 bracket, while De La Salle University (DLSU) debuted at 201-250.
In 2018, UP was in the 156th rank among top performing Asian universities, and 201+ ranking in 2017.
THE WUR Asia Pacific Rankings released on February 20 reflect the world rankings for 2019 which places the UP state university in the top 501-600, and the DLSU private university in the 801-1000 bracket for educational institutions evaluated based on 13 performance indicators grouped into the following areas: teaching, research, citations, industry income and international outlook.
The London-based publication evaluated 1,250 universities from 86 countries for the 2019 edition of THE WUR, with the University of Oxford and University of Cambridge leading the rankings.
