Poet Ronel Osias summarizes emotions felt when signing a waiver in a diyona, a traditional Filipino poem with 3 lines and 7 syllables per line.

Osias is a teacher and writer from Rizal province. He is a member of the Linangan sa Imahen, Retorika at Anyo (LIRA) and Midnight Collective. He was recently accepted as a Fellow at the 23rd IYAS La Salle National Writers’ Workshop organized by the University of St. La Salle and the Bienvenido N. Santos Creative Writing Center of De La Salle University. Congratulations!

Kahit kinakailangan, hindi pa ring maiwasang mangambang lumagda sa waiver kung sasailalim sa operasyon ang isang minamahal. Ang pangambang ito ang tinalakay ni Ronel sa kanyang diyona, isang tulang may 3 taludtod at 7 pantig bawat taludtod. Ang diyonang “Waiver” ay nagwagi sa timpalak na “Tula Tayo” ng Komisyon ng Wikang Filipino noong 2023. Si Ronel Osias ay guro at manunulat mula sa Rizal. He is also a member of Linangan sa Imahen, Retorika at Anyo (LIRA), the oldest organization of poets writing in Filipino. He grew up in Baler, Aurora, and currently lives in Metro Manila with his family and cats.
