Disney Legend Lea Salonga joined the studio’s “Storytime” series reading aloud a 5-minute tale on Princess Jasmine from Aladdin.

Disney social media introduced Lea Salonga’s episode on April 25, 2020, saying, “Every page a surprise. You’ll treasure this Jasmine tale from ‘5 Minute Princess Stories’ as read by Lea Salonga.”

Lea Salonga started her Disney Storytime by introducing herself as the singing voice of Princess Jasmine in the award-winning hit song, “A Whole New World” written and composed by Alan Menken and Tim Rice which won Best Original Song at the 65th Annual Academy Awards.

Salonga then read “A Proper Princess”, bringing Jasmine’s story to life.

Viewers on YouTube praised Salonga’s voice and cadence, which they described as beautiful as her singing voice.

The Broadway Royalty from the Philippines is noted for lending her singing voice to two Disney characters, Jasmine, and Fa Mulan singing “Reflection”.

Kendrick Harris- Kenfinity cheered, “It’s great to go to a ‘whole new world’ with our talented singer!”

The Filipino Pride Icon had Ramon Evangelista saying, “That’s a wonderful story and great to see a Philippine representative for Disney!”
