United Arab Emirates-born Filipino boy Peter Rosalita is moving ahead to the semifinals on “America’s Got Talent” (AGT) after impressing the audience and judges with a show-stopping rendition of Whitney Houston’s “I Have Nothing.”

The 10-year-old singer belted out the Whitney Houston classic, earning a standing ovation from the judges on the second live episode of AGT Season 16 aired on August 12, 2021.

“You are amazing! You are absolutely amazing. You were talking about how happy you are when you sing. You make me so happy when I sit here hearing you sing,” judge Heidi Klum told Rosalita.

“You are so dapper. I have to tell you, I was the biggest fan of Whitney Houston and you really just did her proud. It was amazing! Good for you,” she added.

Hollywood actress Sofia Vergara expressed her disbelief over Rosalita’s powerful voice. “You’re so tiny but you have this voice that’s unbelievable. The way you commanded the stage tonight was breathtaking,” Vergara said.

Howie Mandel added, “You are great, adorable. I love your suit. I love your style. What a professional.”

An impressed Simon Cowell commended the Filipino singer’s performance, albeit suggesting that Rosalita should pick a “younger” song for next time.

“In my opinion, you’re gonna sail through to the next round. When you do, choose a song next time that doesn’t feel like your mom has chosen it,” Simon Cowell said.

“Because you’re so good, so talented. I want to hear you do something younger next time. But don’t get me wrong. That was a fantastic performance,” he added.

Aside from Rosalita, the seven acts advancing to the next round of the competition are 1aChord, Gina Brillon, Jimmie Herrod, Dustin Tavella, Kabir Singh, and Madilyn Bailey.

Peter Rosalita stunned AGT judges and received Team Celine Dion’s praise with his memorable debut performance in the show’s Season 16 premiere.

Filipino circus dancer Ehrlich “Firechill” Ocampo also captivated judges and viewers worldwide on AGT with his audition.

Multiple-voiced singer Marcelito Pomoy won 3rd runner-up in the AGT Champions competition in 2020.
