Globe is making it easier for Filipinos to give back through everyday digital habits. With the new GoGIVE feature on the GlobeOne app, users can now support meaningful causes simply by using mobile data, redeeming points, or completing online transactions.
One of these is GoGIVE, a unique feature on the GlobeOne app that turns everyday mobile data usage into a chance to help. Each time a Globe Prepaid user uses their data to stream a video, scroll through social media, play online games, or chat with friends, they collect “hearts” for every gigabyte they consume. These hearts are automatically sent to support the real-world advocacies and causes close to their hearts — from helping rescue animals and protecting forests, to advancing women’s digital literacy, supporting children’s education, and aiding medical frontliners.
“GoGIVE is designed to inspire our customers to create lasting change. By simply doing the things they love online, they will be able to make a difference each day,” said Givielle Florida, Head of Globe Prepaid. “This initiative reinforces Globe’s dedication to sustainability and aligns with our purpose of uplifting lives through technology.”
Customers also have the option to donate through Globe Rewards, where they can convert their earned points into life-changing support for partner organizations such as the Hapag Movement, Philippine Animal Welfare Society (PAWS), Philippine General Hospital (PGH) Medical Foundation, Hineleban Foundation, and others. Every point donated goes toward feeding the hungry, protecting the environment, or funding medical needs—proof that even the smallest acts can ripple outward and make a difference. In 2024, total donations raised from Globe Rewards amounted to Php17.8 million.
“We’ve always believed that rewards should go beyond personal benefit,” said Peter Ramirez, Head of Loyalty Program at Globe. “With just a few points, our customers can uplift lives, support communities, and be part of something bigger than themselves.”
For those who use GCash, the GForest feature has opened up an accessible way to build a greener future. With GForest, you can collect green energy from everyday transactions—send money, pay bills, buy load, cash in—as it lets GForest users, called ‘Green Heroes’, plant virtual trees that GCash then converts into actual ones.
As of 2024, more than 4 million actual trees have been planted, covering over 14,300 hectares of land—or around one-fourth the size of Metro Manila—supporting 11,200 farming families. From reforestation to agroforestry, and providing livelihood for local farmers and fisherfolk, the impact of each tree goes far beyond what’s seen on screen.
“GForest makes environmental action something you can do from your phone,” shared CJ Alegre, Head of Sustainability at GCash. “It’s a powerful way to show that technology and sustainability can go hand-in-hand, and that millions of small actions can lead to real positive change.”
By embedding purpose into everyday actions, Globe continues to lead the way in showing that technology, when used with intention, can help build a better, more compassionate world—one click, point, and tree at a time.
