The Philippines’ representatives to the Supranational pageants, Tarah Valencia and Kenneth Cabungcal, made the country proud by securing runner-up placements at the recently concluded competitions in Poland.
Tarah Valencia of Baguio City delivered an impressive performance throughout both the pre-pageant activities and the finals night held at the Strzelecki Park Amphitheater in Nowy Sącz on June 28 (Philippine time).
During the finals, she competed in the swimsuit round as part of the Top 24, advanced to the evening gown segment in the Top 12, and emerged as one of the Top 5 candidates, where she took part in the question-and-answer (Q&A) portion.
In the Q&A, she was asked: “Many young people today struggle with confidence and self-worth. What advice would you give them to help them embrace who they are?”
The Tourism Management degree holder answered: “A lot of individuals would always bring you down, but I say this because I experienced this, but I was able to battle this by giving myself positive affirmations, such as ‘I am worthy,’ ‘I am capable,’ and ‘I can do anything through my power and through my own voice.’ And that’s what every individual should do to have their own self-worth. Thank you.”
Valencia eventually won Miss Supranational 2025 Third Runner-up. Her fellow Filipina, Anna Valencia Lakrini, who represented Germany, ended up as first runner-up. Brazil’s Eduarda Braum took home the crown in this year’s edition.

Meanwhile, Kenneth Cabungcal of Dumaguete City also made the Filipino pageant community proud with his recent feat, finishing as Fourth Runner-up at Mister Supranational 2025.
This event occurred just a day after Tarah Valencia was named Third Runner-up in Miss Supranational.
During the grand finals, the engineering graduate and pageant veteran proudly spoke on stage about his humble beginnings.
“Growing up in a public market, I used to think that I cannot dream big. But being a fish vendor taught me that if you persevere, work hard, and have courage, it will take us to places,” Cabungcal shared.
“My journey from selling fishes to being here, I think this is a testament that our circumstances [don’t] define our future. And I know, I am destined to be here because this will give light to others,” he added.
By acing every segment with his looks and charm, the Filipino pageant king successfully penetrated up to the Top 5 of the competition.
There, at the Q&A portion, he was asked about his source of inspiration in life and how that shaped him into the man he is today.
Cabungcal gave a heartwarming answer by dedicating it to his parents.
“That’s simple. These [are] my parents because my parents are both fish vendors. And one of the [reasons] that I’m standing here and I’m working so hard is because I want to build them a better future. And I know that someday, I can build their future house and everything they want. And I hope that someday I can make them proud. Thank you,” he said.
