Yes! The Bataan-Cavite Interlink Bridge (BCIB) Project, an ocean view mega bridge highway that provides a direct route from South Luzon to Central Luzon and vice-versa, is finally getting off the ground.

The Bataan-Cavite mega bridge highway of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) is a 32.15-kilometer bridge project connecting the provinces of Bataan in Central Luzon to Cavite in South Luzon that was recently approved by the National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) Board.

NEDA announced on January 29, 2020, the approval of the BCIB project worth Php175.7 billion funded through the Official Development Assistance (ODA).

The mega bridge aims to reduce travel time and help decongest traffic in Metro Manila as well as the South Luzon and North Luzon gateway.

The four-lane (2 lanes each direction) bridge starts from Barangay Alas-asin in Mariveles, Bataan, crossing Manila Bay, and passing through and terminating in Barangay Timalan in Naic, Cavite.

NEDA said the project also include the construction of two navigation bridges, interchanges, land viaducts, turnaround facilities, special span bridge near Cavite coast, a toll plaza and administration building, as well as the improvement of local existing junctions.

The Bataan-Cavite Interlink Bridge will be implemented over a period of six years.

More bridge highways are opening across the country, among them, Kalibo Bridge touted the longest bridge in Western Visayas that opened in January in Aklan and cut travel time to Boracay Island.

The soon-to-be completed New Clark City’s Sacobia Bridge connecting to other Clark districts that runs across Sacobia River is expected to cut travel time to 15 minutes.

Another scenic sea view road dike was completed in Sorsogon and is expected to protect the barangays from storm surges while providing travelers a view of the ocean.

SEND CHEERS in the comments below to the people of Bataan and Cavite for the Bataan-Cavite Interlink Bridge project that promises to cut back travel time while offering an ocean view to travelers!
