Holy Week prayer requests or mass intentions can now be sent online as the Media Office of the Catholic Bishops Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) has created an online platform through using Google forms.

The Catholic faithful may now request for prayers through the website of CBCP News.

Holy Week, the highlight of the Catholic liturgical year that started with Palm Sunday on April fifth, is being celebrated in the Philippines with online live streaming services instead of the usual public mass gatherings.

The new ways to celebrate the Holy Week is being implemented as the enhanced community quarantine continues to be enforced in Luzon island and in other parts of the country.

“Amid the COVID-19 crisis, we are encouraged to make good use of the digital technology for our pastoral concerns and liturgical celebrations,” CBCP media director, Monsignor Pedro Quitorio said in the CBCP News report published on March 27, 2020.

To request for Mass intentions, CBCP News has provided 3 Submission Forms on its website here.

Msgr. Quitorio also said the CBCP will then ask priests to say Mass online for the collected intentions. CBCP listed online masses offered in different dioceses throughout the country.

CBCP initially received prayer requests on their Facebook page.

“Pray for the world especially the Philippines to overcome the covid19 menace,” Jomari Caling Diwa commented.

“Prayer for world peace, healing and protection🙏🙏 🙏,” Hazel Marollano Teodoro commented.

CBCP also issued circulars for recommendations on how the Holy Week celebrations should be celebrated in home churches.

The CBCP also released precautionary measures during liturgical celebrations to reduce transmission of the novel coronavirus also known as COVID-19.
